They actually had more lenders than borrowers after they appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show, but now the balance has shifted back. I noticed that a couple of the people she mentioned are still looking for funds.

Survivor Finale

Nice post on the finale of this season's Survivor.

So it’s 39 days later, and the sole Survivor was crowned last night. Yao-man was favored to win, but he also had a huge target on his back going into the final 5. As luck would have it, Yao once again pulled off the seemingly impossible, and won the final immunity challenge, securing his place in the final 4!

NBC's Fall

Some changes coming up in NBC's fall line-up.

CNN came out with this article today on NBC’s upcoming Fall schedule. I wasn’t surprised by the cancellation of Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip. I had once posted the prediction that it would be a great success but after a few episodes I was pretty bored. The interesting bit of news is what is happening with Heroes. I have kept up with this show and I actually really enjoy it.

As much as I hope that Jack Bauer and CTU will take the right course in tracking, torturing, and killing as many of these terrorists thugs as they can find, I recognize that the Palmers and other verbal defenders of our enemies fulfill a vital function in our democracy. Specifically, they give me somebody to hate whose name I can actually pronounce.

I've made my reservations known about the Flavor of Love spinoff I Love New York. New York herself frightens me, and her mom gives me the night sweats. I thought that the antics of a bunch of dudes couldn't possibly compare to the antics of a bunch of skanks competing for the love of a strange, improbable star. I was wrong, though; I hadn't reckoned on the magnificent entertainment capacity of the male of the species Skankus Americanus.

And crazy as it may seem, I also opted out of getting cable TV. Yeah, I know … this means no more America’s Next Top Model, Amazing Race, Project Runway and all the myriad of other crappy tv shows that are near and dear to my heart.

We adored Zach Braff in Garden State, too.

I adore Zach Braff. He is so talented. I really like the show Scrubs and think he is hilarious on it but my real love affair with him began after I watched Garden State. I love everything about the movie from the cinematography to the soundtrack.
